Used in the graceful disassembly of lock cylinders, these ultra thin shims are manufactured from steel stock that is only 0.0015" thick. The tactics for this method of lock disassembly are designed to be as forensically-neutral as possible.
Because storage, manipulation, and application of these shims can be challenging due to their extremely thin profile, many field teams opt to make use of our "Lipstick" cylinder shim holder and disassembly tool, sold separately.
